Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Finally this day came! Marc Anthony’s Concert. Today my dream came true after years.
It is like I got fever of latin! I am still super excited from the concert thinking about Marc Anthony. I am in love, estoy enamorado. Just like that!
On Sunday September 29th, which was the last day of America Tour, we headed to Nokia Center LA Live located in the heart of Los Angeles. Me, my Mexicana friend Marina and Yuquita flew in from Japan just for this concert…!
You know in the large concert hall I believe we two were the only Japanese audience. Probably so. If you google Marc Anthony in Japanese, most of the results are my blog LOL
Marc Anthony is not well known in Japan. That’s my J friend Yuquita repeated during the stay here. (Well, not surprising they don’t know about Oprah Winfley either!)
Poor fellow Japanese paisanos. Don’t worry we viewed the concert as the representative of Japan LOL
This is my pretty Mexicana friend Marina. Isn’t she pretty? She is ready for the concert in her pink attire. Although she’s from TJ, she is from Mazatlan and love salsa. We went to Luis Miguel concert together and it’ been a year already…!
So… this is the venue. Our seat is at the front. (not the first row though) It’s on the left side but close enough to see Marc with your own eyes. Since we are so into him now that we will definitely try to win the better seats for the next concert.
Lots of Latinas in dresses. I saw a women with silver sequin dress LOL For me I was wearing just a T-shirt and jeans. It was a day trip from San Diego and I was the driver. Comfort comes first. If I have next chance I will definitely dress up like Latinas…!
The show started with I need to know (English version of “Di me lo”)Marina wanted to listen to this one so it was BINGO! The audience was gritando (screaming) too! All standing. I read online that he prefers his audience standing too.

Marc Anthony showed up with his sunglasses. He sang two songs and threw away his sunglasses.
He sang all the songs I wanted to listen, like upbeat salsa “Valio la pena”. Each song was so familiar that I can’t help repeating OMG!!! Seriously!
I can’t recall exactly but this is what he covered.
I Need to Know
Y Hubo Alguien
Vivir lo Nuestro
Hasta Que Te Conoci
Que Precio Tiene el Cielo
Hasta Ayer
Te Conozco Bien
Mi Gente
Vivir Mi Vida

Marc Anthony. His voice was just as his CD. Beautiful voice. He talked minimum. I am not sure if he was being considerate to both English and Spanish speakers. But whenever he talked he wispered love. At times he is wimsical and kept throwing kisses. I received one of them too. He is not good looking but he is very attractive. Even Ricky-Martin-enthusiast Marina was in enamorado LOL
So pity that photos can’t depict 100%
The last day of the tour was special. In the last song Vivir mi vida they encouranged us to take videos and upload to the website called 45sound then possibly they might use your video in Marc’s new promotional videos.
There was no restriction on cameras or phones. Everyone just freely took videos and photos. I mainly took photos but I should have taken more videos…
Poor Marina, she took lots of videos but somehow it wasn’t saved. Too bad!
Oh Joey Vega the comedian did the opening act and he was funny! His jokes were sometimes sarcastic to Latinos, sometimes sexy, we all laughed. I should have taken some photos of Latinos laughing. You know how Japanese or Asian in general are so reserved that they don’t laugh like crazy, I should show them how Latinos laugh when things are funny!
I can’t write them all, but the concert was wonderful. Even those who weren’t big fans go home becoming a big fan. His show offered that high quality.
Honestly I am surprised to myself how I am into his music. I even checked his concert schedule in Mexico City. Lucily? it was Thursday and Friday. I might have gone if it happened on weekend. He holds a concert in Puerto Rico this weekend. I would love to visit Puerto Rico someday. I heard they dance more like a congress, I am not sure.
So… my passion to salsa is fully back. I listen to salsa whenever I can. I need to look for salsa friends who I can talk about salsa music and salsa dance. Put Chinese aside, I am lured to Spanish latey.
This is my Marc Anthony Japan website if you happen to read Japanese…!
